Nicole North, President

Nicole North’s more than 18 years of experience in both the public and private sectors has allowed her to build a strong and successful professional portfolio with expertise in finance, leadership, and process improvement.

She pairs a strong technical background in both HR and statistics & data analysis with superior project management and presentation skills, using a creative and vibrant approach to process improvement.

A focus on customer service, forward thinking, and innovation allow her to communicate easily with all levels of management, and her engagement style makes her a popular trainer and coach.

Nicole’s formal education includes a honours BA from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is also a certified as a Coach and as a practitioner in Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator assessments and training, Method Time Motion studies, and Appreciative Inquiry.

Nicole is a fitness instructor, a cottage country enthusiast, a vegetarian chef, and an actor.

Mary Ellen Belzile, Senior Associate

Mary Ellen has a strong career of more than 30 years in the private sector, focused on areas including process improvement, network development and training, financial management, sales, brand management, and planning and growth.

As a process improvement expert, certified as a Six Sigma blackbelt since 2001 and as a Kaizen Executive Facilitation blackbelt since 2004, Mary Ellen has brought continuous improvement, streamlining, and metrics focus to all of her roles, including her most recent senior leadership roles at Volkswagen and Jaguar Land Rover.

At ease in both formal presentations and casual conversations, Mary Ellen is expert at understanding the customer experience (whether an internal or external customer), at “reading the room” and understanding the spoken and unspoken issues, and at finding innovative, realistic, and measurable solutions to business problems. In addition to her Six Sigma and Kaizen certifications, Mary Ellen holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Mary Ellen is bilingual (English/French), a bookworm, an avid traveller, and loves to take her dog Sadie for long walks or runs. Fun fact: she has recently started taking cello lessons, something she has wanted to do since she was a kid!

Susan Geary, Senior Associate

Susan Geary has more than thirty years of experience as a trainer, coach, consultant, and corporate education manager, and is co-author of the book “Colour Savvy: Helping you Achieve Success in Your Work Life.” Skilled at addressing individual, team and organizational performance issues, Susan has extensive experience designing training programs, and facilitating results focused learning.

Susan’s training needs assessment, design, and development experience includes leadership, management, technical, sales, and communication skills development for clients in a wide variety of sectors.

A skilled facilitator, she has helped thousands of team leaders, managers and employees enhance their communication, leadership, performance management, sales, and customer service abilities in the not-for-profit, pharmaceutical, banking, insurance, government, and manufacturing sectors.

Susan has a Ph.D. in adult education from the University of Toronto, a B.Ed. from Cambridge University in England, and is certified to administer the following instruments: Personality DimensionsMeyers-Briggs Type Indicator, Dealing with Conflict Instrument, Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument, and theEmotional Intelligence EQi-2.0.

In her spare time, Susan loves to hike and travel, and she is an enthusiastic flower and organic vegetable gardener, something we would love to get better at ourselves!

Susan Ghulati Sleigh, Senior Associate

Susan has more than 20 years of experience that span a wide range of industries including entertainment technology, robotics, manufacturing, and telecommunications, with a focus on coaching, project management, process improvement, and strategic planning.

Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2002 and as a PROSCI Change Management Practitioner in 2012, Susan has built on her BASc in Engineering to help organizations improve their products, services, and customer experience.

We believe that one of the most exciting things Susan brings to our team is her dedication to supporting women, which has been a constant throughout her career. Her efforts include delivering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) outreach programs to secondary school students, serving on the board of directors at a women’s crisis centre, and helping organizations build corporate women’s networks.

Outside of work, Susan is passionate about fitness classes, yoga, running, and parenting two energetic teenagers.

Teri Nghiem, Senior Associate

For more than 18 years Teri Nghiem has provided management consulting services that focus on the way organizations manage and strategically plan the use of their most valuable resource – people.

After obtaining a BS(Hon) and a Masters Degree in Science, Teri entered the public sector and worked in IT and Finance before finding her real specialty in Human Resources. Her increasing experience in this area led her to branch out on her own and offer management consulting services.

Since 2010 Teri has worked with organizations in the public and broader public sector to drive organizational and cultural change and to align of processes, structure and people with business goals and mandates.

Her breadth of experience and focus on the customer line up beautifully with Whiteboard’s focus on process and business improvement, and we are thrilled to have her as part of our team, especially since she is very funny. Just like us.

Melissa Watkins, Associate

We are thrilled to add Melissa to our Associate roster in 2020! Melissa is an experienced Project Manager (soon to complete her PMP certification exam), and has focused her 15+ year career in the Financial and Legal sectors, providing much needed strategic expertise in planning and executing large scale marketing events.

While building her project management experience, Melissa focused on driving efficiencies, documenting best practices, and team building, all of which align perfectly with Whiteboard’s approach to business improvement.

In addition to all that, Melissa is bilingual (English/French), loves travelling, and is a fitness instructor. Honestly, could she be a better fit to the Whiteboard team? We don’t think so.
